Finnish Cancer registry

Finnish Cancer Registry publishes regularly tabulations on cancer incidence, mortality and prevelance, added with tabulations on cancer survival and screening activity statistics. The traditional booklet pictured to the right is printed every second year, but the same tabulations (and many others) are updated about every two months and published on these web pages.

If needed, Cancer Registry is able to produce special tabulations using any of the variables recorded in its data base, such as stage at diagnosis or morphology. Discussion with the director of statistics or chief medical officer in advance often helps in reaching the optimal definition of ad hoc tabulations.

NORDCAN is a data base providing data on incidence and mortality concerning 41 major cancer diseases in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. NORDCAN can be downloaded free of charge at www.ancr.nu/nordcan.asp. A simplified web version of this tabulation tool opens up on page www-dep.iarc.fr/nordcan.htm.
